Veterans Commemorative Bricks
Dedication
After the Memorial Day Parade we conducted our 2nd annual
dedication of Commemorative Bricks honoring our local Veterans for
their service to our country.  Bricks bought since last Memorial Day
were dedicated.  The funds from this brick program allowed our Post
to donate $2,500 to the Fisher House Foundation and $2,500 to the
Montrose VA Food Pantry during the ceremony.  All proceeds after
maintenance of the park will go to veterans related charities.
Color Guards from our Post and the Yorktown Knights of Columbus, the
Rifle Detail from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8329, and the Irish
Band joined us for the dedication ceremony.
The Yorktown Irish Band joined us and played 'Amazing Grace'.
For those no longer with us... a final salute by the VFW Rifle Detail.
Taps and a final salute from their fellow Veterans.
All Veterans are moved to participate in rendering honors to those who
have honorably served our country.
Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace addressed those attending.
The funds raised by the sale of these engraved Commemorative Bricks
allowed two donations to be made to two veteran-related charities. Duke
Searles from the Montrose VA Food Pantry thanks everyone for the $2,500
donation to the pantry.  The second donation of $2,500 went to the Fisher
