Veterans Commemorative Bricks
Dedication
After the Memorial Day Parade we conducted our 3rd annual
dedication of Commemorative Bricks honoring our local Veterans for
their service to our country.  Bricks bought since last Memorial Day
were dedicated.  All proceeds after maintenance of the park will go to
veterans related charities.
Color Guards from our Post, the Yorktown Knights of Columbus, and the
Rifle Detail from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8329 took part in the
dedication ceremony.
Veterans and family members stop to find their loved ones bricks in the
plaza.
Each year the crowd of guests grows for this rendering of honors to our
veterans.
Crowds surrounding the plaza recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
The funds raised by the sale of these engraved Commemorative Bricks
allowed donations to be made to two veteran-related charities.  Laura
Mauritello of 'My Brother Vinny' accepts a donation check.
A final salute for those no longer with us.

Our WWI cannon was returned that day after being beautifully restored as
an Eagle Scout project by Boy Scout Paul Martin IV.  Great Job, Paul!
